On May 17–19, the main festival of pop culture ComicCon will be held in St. Petersburg for the first time. FAN, the only TV channel in Russia broadcasting anime, fantastic animation, and fiction, will offer all guests of the event to be transferred to the world of alternative reality.
In Russia, the ComicCon festival takes place annually since 2014 and gathers actors, cosplayers, comic book authors, gamers, artists, and fans of fantasy and anime. This year the event will be joined by the FAN TV channel, broadcasting popular Russian and cult films from Japan produced by the founders of the anime genre - Ghibli, Gonzo, MadHouse, Toho, Kadokawa, Bones, Hollywood majors, as well as top filmmakers from China and South Korea.
All guests of the festival will be able to visit the stand of the FAN channel and experience the atmosphere of the anime world with the help of special background. The recorded video can be obtained as a souvenir in the official group of the TV channel on VKontakte social network.
One of the highlights of the event will be the traditionally enchanting show of cosplayers, which amazes visitors with their costumes and make-up. Many famous guests will come to the festival. Croatian artist Dalibor Talajic is known for his work on the Marvel universe. Comics about “The Punisher”, “Ghost Rider”, “X-Men”, “Old Man Logan” and “Deadpool”. Iwan Rheon is a British actor known for his roles as the mad Ramsay Bolton, the shy Simon Bellamy, the legendary Mick Mars, and the overbearing Maximus Boltagon. Bryan Descartes and Amelia Rose Blaire are actors known by the roles in video games like Detroit: Become Human.
A separate event will be the presentation of the professional award of the comics industry named after Kazimir Malevich - the first Russian award for creators of comics.
In addition, book publishers will present new releases of graphic novels, including exclusive novelties. All the guests of the festival will be able to purchase various souvenirs with a theme from their favorite movies and anime.
