Festival of Russian Animation Films will be held in India

Festival of Russian Animation Films will be held in Chennai, India on 25-27 July, within the framework of the Days of Science and Technology. The festival is organized by Engineering Company Atomstroyexport, in partnership with the largest Russian state media-holding – All-Russian Television and Radio Broadcasting Company and with children’s television channels “Moolt”, a part of Digital Television Russia.

The organizers of the Festival have developed a special program, considering the age and tastes of the audience.  The program includes the best, most popular, kindest and most charming animation films and animation series produced in Russia.  Besides the traditional demonstration in the cinema hall, the program includes an animation show with the participation of the puppet characters, with amusing games and competitions. The festival organizers have taken care to acquaint their guests with the movie characters with the help of the state-of-the-art technologies – digital computer games and 3 D programs.

The Indian spectators will view popular Russian animation series that have already gained global acknowledgment.  The movies have been translated into 10 languages: Chinese, English, Spanish, Japanese, Indonesian, German, French, Portuguese, Arabic, and Hindi.   The organizers are confident that the characters of the movies well-loved by the Russian and foreign children and grown-ups, such as Be-be-bears, Paper Tales, Rolando Locomotov, Magic Lantern, Leo & Tig, Fantasy Patrol, will catch the fancy of the Indian spectators.

In 2017 the Russian school of animation movies celebrates its 105th anniversary.  During those years the Russian animation school not only won the acknowledgment of the global animation art, it has produced works by outstanding masters whose masterpieces have become the gold fund of the world animation and continue bringing joy to children and adults. Modern animation movies are full of the same kindness, sincerity, humor, friendliness, and honesty that characterized by Soviet animation films, so well-loved by many generations.  These movies strike with a variety of styles peculiar of the single Russian animation school that still amaze the imagination of the spectators, the professional critics and film experts.

In 2016 two Russian animation series -  Be-be-bears and Fantasy Patrol were among the most popular in the world of television projects for children upon the results of the screening of TV market made by MIP Junior (Cannes, France).
